Saving for a grey day
Article Abstract:
Those saving for the future should not become too concerned about short-term stock market movements, and should be aware that there is no question about the long-term benefits of equity investment. Personal equity plans can be a good way of saving, as they offer considerable flexibility, allowing the holder to realize the value of the investment at the most appropriate time. However, equity-based personal equity plans are intended to run for at least five years, and should not be used as a repository for short-term savings.

Sinking in a sea of debt
Article Abstract:
University students can often encounter significant financial difficulties, especially as their potential for earning money is limited. Some sources of credit are available, including loans from the Student Loan Co, but some students find that they also reach the limit of their ability to obtain credit. When this happens, their only realistic option is to try to reduce their expenditure. Students often find that they will have to continue paying off their debts for several years after they begin full-time employment.

Rationalising assets
Article Abstract:
Those who have been placed in a position where they need to build up their financial assets should have in percentage terms an amount equal to their age in interest-earning investments, with the rest being in equity investments. It is important to secure diversification, possibly by using a company which has multiple fund management links. Attention must be given to minimizing inheritance liabilities, possibly through setting up a personal trust.
