Chill out in the New Age office
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly common for UK companies to abolish traditional office hierarchies. In these companies, nobody has a personal office, and often every employee is an equal shareholder. Such companies can be attractive to graduates, who find that they offer an environment similar to that which they experienced at university. However, graduates should also excercise some caution, bearing in mind that some companies claim to have abolished hierarchies simply to improve their image, when in fact their superiors do not really like the idea of total equality.

There's only one way of dealing with the office bully, right?
Article Abstract:
There has been significant progress recently in the UK towards using the law to tackle the widespread problem of bullying at work. However, some observers believe that legal action may not be the best way to deal with bullying. Legal action can be expensive and time-consuming, and would probably lead to the victim having to seek alternative employment. It may be better to deal with bullying within the workplace, keeping a record of each incident and seeking to gain the support of colleagues.

The secret life of desks
Article Abstract:
Employers are becoming increasingly aware that desks can reveal a great deal about their owners' professional goals, lifestyle and worries. Some employees have a highly organized desk with very few personal belongings. Such people want to feel needed, but may feel that they are not appreciated. Employees with an apparently very disorganized desk generally work extremely hard and are flexible thinkers. Those who display drawings or photographs have an agile and creative mind.
