Chris Petit: a small profile
Article Abstract:
Chris Petit believes that he has remained a filmmaker, even though he has been more involved in writing novels in the 1990s. He became disillusioned with institutionalized cinema after making several films in the 1980s, but this alienation has in fact proved productive. He is interested in the areas where the commercial and the avant-garde overlap, and accepts that he probably has not been sufficiently commercially-minded. His most recent project is 'Dead TV,' which will be screened at a mini-retrospective of his work at The Watershed Centre in Bristol, England.
