Damien and Co all set to serve a sensation a la carte
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly common in the UK for celebrities to be associated with restaurant ventures. These have included artist Damien Hirst, who is opening The Pharmacy, a cafe in Notting Hill Gate, London, England, in partnership with public relations millionaire Matthew Freud and former colleague Jonathan Kennedy. There are also a number of chefs who have become celebrities in their own right. Gary Rhodes, for example, has established a thriving restaurant empire, and is to expand it with an outlet in Dolphin Square, London, England, in spring 1998.

He's the Damien Hirst of the Arctic Circle
Article Abstract:
Russian performance artist Andrey Bartenev has yet to acquire a following in the English-speaking world for his efforts to create a new visual culture. However, he is extremely popular in Russia, where he established his reputation in 1991 to 1994, a period of great change. He seeks to focus on joy and optimism, and is concerned by the fact that European galleries still seek Russian socialist-realist paintings. His riverside carnival is to be staged shortly at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England.
