Death by television
Article Abstract:
The murder of popular television presenter Jill Dando seems particularly poignant, even though the murder of anyone, regardless of their faults, is terrible. She was held in great affection by many people, who admired her modesty, friendliness and down-to-earth approach. However, their grief at her murder can never match that of her fiance and her family. Ordinary television viewers should accept that their own feelings of loss can never be as great as those of the people who really knew her.

Why do I feel sorry for him?
Article Abstract:
The key mistake made by Jonathan Aitken when, as UK Minister for Defence Procurement, he spent time at the Ritz in Paris, France, at the expense of Said Ayas, godfather to his twin daughters, was to fail to accept that others believed he had done something wrong. He resigned in anger, rather than contrition, and fought to clear his name. This led him to persuade his wife and daughter to commit perjury, and he has now been imprisoned for 18 months.
