Discounting their blessings
Article Abstract:
The UK investment trust sector appears to be undergoing a revival, with discounts, or the difference between the lower market price of the large majority of investment trust shares and the value of the shares they invested in, reducing again to around 13%. This trend has been partly fuelled by the recovery in the Japan and Far Eastern markets and by a revival in the small-cap market. Since autumn 1998, investment trusts have performed better than both unit trusts and the FTSE Allshare index.
