Derek Taylor
Article Abstract:
Publicist and author Derek Taylor began his working life in journalism. He became personal assistant to Brian Epstein, manager of the Beatles, in May 1964, and was also involved in script-writing. He worked for some time at a Los Angeles radio station, and used this experience to set up his own publicity company. His clients included the Beach Boys, the Byrds and Captain Beefheart. He helped the Beatles set up Apple Corps when he returned to the UK in 1968.
