Diana: How we saw it
Article Abstract:
Media coverage of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, and subsequent events quickly revolved around the key themes of shock, grieving, idealization and recrimination. Tabloid newspapers sold many extra copies as they ran stories about how caring Diana, Princess of Wales, was towards ordinary people. However, their role in the tragedy was also widely criticized. Within a few days, the media was to become very significant in putting pressure on the Royal Family to share the grief of ordinary people.

Labour newcomer reveals her long-lost son - and turns tables on the tabloids
Article Abstract:
There has been extensive media interest in the personal life of Ann Keen, the new Labour MP for Brentford and Isleworth, England. This has prompted her to make public the fact that she gave birth to a son in 1966 at the age of 17 and subsequently gave him up for adoption. She was reunited with her son in 1995, during her selection process as a Labour candidate. She feels that her experiences have made her more understanding about the problems faced by single mothers.
