Does the Rx look suspicious? Pharmacists need to strike a careful balance when handling questionable prescriptions for drugs with abuse potential
Article Abstract:
Pharmacists should exercise care in fulfilling questionable prescriptions for drugs which have the potential to be abused. They should ask themselves what a reasonable professional should do when confronted with suspicious prescriptions. Legally, pharmacists must determine if a prescription should be allowed considering the contraindications of a drug and if there is a proper medical use for a drug. Pharmacists can be held liable if they fill every prescription presented to them, but they can also cause harm if they are excessively cautious.

Formula relieves menopausal symptoms
Article Abstract:
Many pharmacists are resorting to compounding as a method of enhancing revenues, increasing patient loyalty and deriving self satisfaction. Compounding as little as five prescriptions daily can double and perhaps triple average pharmacy profits. One compounding product, which has become popular among pharmacists, is natural hormone replacement pharmacopoeias. Pharmacists can compound such prescriptions tailored to the patients specific needs based only on the physician's recommendation for a specific drug, dose or dosage form.
