Article Abstract:

Boris Yeltsin, president of Russia, aims to create a non-Communist Russia and has introduced many radical reforms without protests from the public. Privatisation, freeing of prices and land privatisation have been encouraged but there is doubt whether Russia can become a full market economy. He appointed Yegor Gaidar, the economic reformer, as acting prime minister. In Jun 1992 he met with George Bush, president of America, to discuss further reduction of nuclear arms.

Introducing identity cards in the UK would not have a negative impact on personal freedom or privacy. It must be recognized that a lack of identity cards is damaging society by encouraging electoral fraud and allowing illegal immigrants to remain unspotted.
