Every mixed race marriage is building a better Britain
Article Abstract:
The UK has a very high level of interracial relationships, along with many young, mixed-race people. Many prominent people, including newsreader Trevor McDonald, actor Michael Caine and comedian Lenny Henry, are in mixed marriages. However, many white people try to ignore this reality, as they still fear that traditional British culture is being adulterated. There are similar fears among some blacks, Asians and Jews. However, young mixed-race Britons such as writer Jayne Ifekwunigwe are refusing to be ignored.

Mr Blunkett has insulted all of us

UK Home Secretary David Blunkett has created great controversy by claiming that black and Asian Britons must accept the norms of the English language and way of life. It is very to assume that somebody entering the UK must always conform. This stance lacks social and political understanding.

We Muslims must decry the Taliban

Muslims should not feel that they can ignore the large-scale intimidation and repression taking place in Afghanistan. It is now time to condemn the Taliban and put pressure on the UK government to stop deporting Afghanis who have fled to the UK.
