Eyeball to eyeball with Mueck and his works
Article Abstract:
Sculptor Ron Mueck admits that he likes to be in control of everything. He is a great perfectionist in his work, and this means that each sculpture takes a very long time to complete. He enjoys making viewers of his human figures try to guess what their story is. He gives surface detail a lot of attention, but feels that he is really trying to capture the life inside his figures. He is shortly to have his first solo show, at the Anthony d'Offay Gallery in London, England.

The first lord of industrial carnage
Article Abstract:
Working with technology is very exciting, but is also disturbing and disruptive, according to art terrorist Mark Pauline, founder of the San Francisco performance unit Survival Research Laboratories (SRL). He has created more than 100 apocalyptic shows, at which the senses of the audience are unashamedly assaulted. Some members of audiences have been injured, but not as extensively as Pauline himself, who lost his right hand in an explosion in 1982.

But my art belongs to Dada
Article Abstract:
Choreographer Lea Anderson feels that using her extensive scrapbooks of images from the worlds of cabaret and early performance art ensures that her dancers can connect without her having to explain. She feels that dance should be like seeking to produce a trail of perfect pop songs. She admits that it has been challenging to develop 'Smithereens' as a full-length show while retaining the originality of a short cabaret act.
