FRANCE/UK: PHOTO-ME SETS UP PRINTING BOOTHS
Article Abstract:
Photo-booth operator Photo-Me International has unveiled plans to enable customers to buy pre-paid phone cards, create business cards and send e-mails from booths installed with a new machine called print@call. Photo-Me is currently in negotiations with telecom companies so as to expand the service in the UK. It will be available in France first, where Photo-Me will sell both land-line and mobile phone cards for telecom company Intercall in return for a monthly fee plus 15% of revenue. This should show a 40% saving for the customer as the cards are used by the hour rather than by the minute.

When it pays to travel
Article Abstract:
A number of holiday destinations will offer particular value for money in summer 1999. France, for example, has seen the franc negatively affected by the generally poor performance of the Euro, while recent political unrest has dramatically reduced the cost of a holiday to Turkey. Those seeking a value-for-money holiday destination must consider prices as well as exchange-rate movements. It is important to bear in mind that inflation sparked off by local events or by declining exchange rates can eliminate currency gains.
