Today Pompeii, tomorrow the caves of Lascaux
Article Abstract:
Virtual reality technology is set to allow ordinary people to gain access to key historical sites from which they are often barred. The technology is becoming less expensive, and will therefore be increasingly used by schools and museums. Virtual reality can also allow people to see buildings and sites which no longer exist, such as Cluny Abbey in France and the Egyptian fortress at Buhen.

The direct route to beating recession
Article Abstract:
The Direct Selling Association noted a 10-14% growth in each year from 1987-1992 in direct selling, door-to-door and party plan. Total sales in 1991 were 800 million pounds sterling. Prices can remain low as the overheads are low. The recession makes it easier to get staff which increases market penetration. Direct selling is popular because of the personal service and convenience.
