Fixing a mole
Article Abstract:
Many people in the UK are becoming more aware of the dangers which can face wild animals. In many cases, people who find an injured wild animal attempt to take it to one of the UK's around 700 independent animal rescue and rehabilitation units. It is important to get the animal to such a facility as quickly as possible, but it is also vital to deal with the animal in such a way as to prevent further injury. The rescuer must make only slow movements, so as not to frighten the animal, and must secure the animal before attempting to transport it.

A killer deep within the womb
Article Abstract:
Pre-eclampsia or pre-eclamptic toxemia (PET) affects about one in 10 pregnant mothers and leads to the death of 1,000 babies a year in the UK. The high-blood pressure disease has unpredictable symptoms, making it difficult to diagnose. Women over 35, first-time mothers and those with a multiple pregnancy are more at risk. Dr Christopher Redman, head of the High-Risk Baby Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, who has conducted research into PET, believes that placenta establishment is sabotaged.
