Fly me, I'm virtually at war
Article Abstract:
The main simulator room at British Aerospace's Flight Simulator Division contains the linked Twin Dome system. This allows two simulator pilots to interact, or dogfight, through the true-colour graphics capability of a 250,000 pounds sterling Silicon Graphics Onyx supercomputer. There is a 'surround' screen to give the pilot peripheral vision, and it is possible to configure the system for a wide range of aircraft and armaments from the 'library' held by British Aerospace.

Political activism goes online
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly common for direct political activism to be undertaken electronically. Mexican political group Electronic Disturbance Theatre, for example, recently attacked a number of websites using a Java applet. Governments and public organizations are beginning to realize that they will have to take action to protect themselves against electronic civil disobedience. The easiest way is to configure the browser to block all incoming applets.
