For the sake of our children
Article Abstract:
There are significant problems associated with the UK government's policy of shifting the burden of earning money, as well as parenting, on to single mothers. This approach will have negative repercussions, both for poor children and for the institution of the family that the government is seeking to assist. It is now time to emphasize the value of parenting, recognizing that both mothers and fathers can provide parenting. There is a need for greater balance in parenting, with both mothers and fathers earning some money and playing some role in home-making.
