It's my film and I'll cry if I want to
Article Abstract:
Filmmaker Todd Solondz feels that his film 'Happiness,' which portrays child abuse, is funny, but not a joke. He does not feel that anybody should laugh at this film out of a sense of superiority. He believes that most filmmakers really enjoy their work, but he actually finds this work very stressful and can foresee a time when he will not be able to make any more films. He enjoyed the time in his life when he had no ambition, as he feels that people become more miserable when they become ambitious.

The trouble with wise guys ...
Article Abstract:
Director Martin Scorsese's latest film, 'Casino,' deals with Mafia corruption, a subject which he covered in 'Goodfellas.' Reactions to the new film have been much less enthusiastic than the reception given to 'Goodfellas.' Scorsese makes the mistake of romanticising the Mafia, and the film also suffers from having no sympathetic characters and being too long.
