Hague's parrot is not dead, he's just resting - with the odd squawk
Article Abstract:
UK Conservative party William Hague has had to withstand extensive criticism. However, he has shown great resilience, and is determined to prove that the Conservative party does have a future. The party is currently experiencing serious difficulties, but it may begin to enjoy a revival if the UK economy weakens and ordinary people become frustrated with the Labour government's smugness. Hague is also aware that Prime Minister Tony Blair will eventually have to declare openly that he is in favour of UK entry into the single European currency system shortly after the next election.

Mr Hague must not turn our party into an irrelevance
Article Abstract:
UK Conservative party leader William Hague is misguided in considering a move towards greater scepticism for the forthcoming European elections. Such a stance would bring the danger of many moderate Conservative voters abandoning the party, and may even risk turning the party into an irrelevance. Hague should be aware that the European Union has followed sound political principles which remain relevant today. Indeed, the current leadership of the Conservative party would be well advised to adopt these principles.
