Albania helpless in face of aggressor
Article Abstract:
It is clear that Albania lacks the military power to withstand an attack by Serbian forces from across the border with Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Indeed, Serb infantry have already taken the border post at Kamenica, Albania, and set fire to two towns. Albania has sought the protection of Nato, which is now set to use the country as the base for any ground action against the Serbs in Kosovo. The Albanians are very pleased that Nato is establishing a strong presence there, believing that they will gain regional status and strong infrastructure.

Five ethnic Albanian refugees from Kosovo, Yugoslavia, were killed by a mine when attempting to cross the border into Macedonia at an unofficial crossing place.
