The anatomy of desire
Article Abstract:
Argentinian novelist Federico Andahazi has attracted considerable controversy with his novel 'The Anatomist.' It was initially greatly admired, but fell from favour among some groups of people when it became clear that its plot is based around the discovery of the clitoris. Ironically, the controversy has been of great benefit in boosting sales of the novel, and Andahazi has received an advance of $200,000 from publishing concern Doubleday for the English-language rights.
