He's putting the bee back into his beer
Article Abstract:
The Constantine-Corts family have been keeping bees for several generations but selling honey was not viable as cheap imports undercut the prices. Instead the family has gone into the production of alcoholic beverages using honey. Their product, honey-primed Enville Ale, is selling well. Honey has frequently been used in beer brewing as well as for mead since Sumerian times, imparting flowery characteristics depending on the nectar source. Honey also combines very well with malt sugars.

Pure genius, threatened by folly
Article Abstract:
Guinness Great Britain announced its decision to take bottled Guinness Original off the market in Britain as market research had shown that 2/3 of drinkers could not tell the difference between it and a pasteurised version. Pasteurising will increase the product's life from three to nine months. It also preserves the taste and quality. Bottled Guinness Original contains live yeast, producing secondary fermentation. It is a lively, fresh drink.

Releasing the summery stuff from the blend
Article Abstract:
Blended Scotch whisky consists of 2/3 grain whisky and 1/3 malt whisky. The grain whisky is lighter and more summery and a single grain whisky, clean and crisp, is now available in Invergordon Single Grain, produced in Invergordon, north of Inverness, Scotland. All other grain whiskies are distilled in the Lowlands. Soft Invergordon water flows from snow-capped Ben Nevis, affecting the whisky's flavour. Maturation takes 10 years in old casks.
