How to become a movie star in six (not so) easy steps
Article Abstract:
Actress Helena Bonham Carter wore a taffeta evening dress made for her when she attended the London Film Festival premiere of her film 'The Wings of the Dove.' Carter is normally happy to wear unstructured, comfortable clothes, but enjoyed dressing up as a glamorous film star for this event. It took several hours to do her make-up and hair. Special effects included using sparkly glitter on her face and sewing several short pieces of false hair into her own hair.

Article Abstract:
Fashion designer Paul Smith has opened a shop within a town house in Notting Hill Gate, London, England. This will be the first to house his collections for men, women and children, and will also have on-site tailors offering a bespoke suit service. He designed the shop to be intimate and personal, differing clearly from the conventional shopping environment. He worked on this project with architect Sophie Hicks, who designed his shop in Sloane Avenue in 1997.

Article Abstract:
European fashion designers are very keen to be creative and to produce designs which will challenge the wearer. In contrast, fashion designers in the US focus on marketing and merchandising. They are most concerned with whether a particular design will be a commercial success and with how many licences they will be able to sell. This is reflected in the latest designs from Calvin Klein, which feature neutral colours such as charcoal grey.
