How to get a winning design on your home
Article Abstract:
The Architect in the House scheme allows homeowners in the UK to obtain advice from an architect for only 10 pounds sterling. This money goes to Shelter, the charity for the homeless. In 1998, more than 1,200 architectural practices participated in this scheme, and more than 1,000 homeowners took advice. It can be very worthwhile taking the advice of an architect when considering making significant changes to your home, even at the full price of between 35 pounds sterling and 50 pounds sterling an hour.

The female face of DIY
Article Abstract:
Some women do not enjoy DIY because of the mess, according to DIY enthusiast Julia Williams. However, women actually do a lot of cleaning when they are doing DIY, and can keep the mess under control. She is willing to tackle most jobs, but for some work has hired professionals, from whom she has learnt a great deal. She always takes great pride in her work, and ensures that she does all jobs to a very high standard. It is now becoming more common for DIY tools and training courses to be aimed at women.
