How to make light of a heavy problem
Article Abstract:
It is generally accepted that light cars are more environmentally-friendly than heavy ones, as they are more fuel efficient. However, many new features which are being added to cars in fact make them heavier, and some of the most basic components of the car, such as the gearbox, have not been made lighter. New safety features in particular add weight to the car, although added weight actually makes the car harder to control and therefore less able to avoid an accident.

The finest car Ford ever launched in Europe
Article Abstract:
The sophisticated, transatlantic-manufactured Ford Mondeo replaces the Sierra in Mar 1993. It is the first regular car in Britain to provide a driver's-side airbag and also has side anti-intrusion beams. It has supple suspension, good handling and light steering. It is comfortable but rear leg room could be better. Styling is inoffensive and the interior is attractive. Unfortunately, the engine booms noisily and vibrates the car.

You always thought diesel stank? Well, you were right - now they tell us
Article Abstract:
UK government scientists have recently released information which indicates that diesel cars cause more pollution than petrol cars. This goes against previous thinking on this issue, which claimed that diesel cars were more environmentally-friendly because the consume less fuel. Car manufacturers and politicians were very keen to promote diesel, but now they are having to admit that it is dirty and smelly.
