How to rescue a rockery
Article Abstract:
There are a number of ways of dealing with a rockery which has become overgrown and too uniform in its appearance. It is worth cutting back or removing some of the plant growth in order to reveal the stones which make up the rockery, as the stones can serve to mark off specific areas. Any new plants must be put into bare ground, and should be placed well away from any existing plants which are growing too vigorously. It is important to ensure good drainage, and it may be necessary to dig some grit into the soil.

You can grow your own way
Article Abstract:
It is well worth growing your own vegetables, even ones which can be purchased more cheaply in the shops. Home-grown vegetables taste much better than shop-bought ones, and have the benefit of not having been treated with any chemicals. The best vegetables to sow early in the year are chilli peppers, early potatoes, aubergines and rocket. The exact planting time will depend on the weather, as it is important to protect seeds from late frosts.
