'I believe there is a new spirit in Ireland .... the real Ireland is walking behind the coffins of your sons.' (Irish Republican Army bombing in Warrington kills two boys)
Article Abstract:
The reactions of the parents of the two boys killed in the Irish Republican Army (IRA) bombing at Warrington, England and their dignity in their grief is a profound rebuke for the terrorist cause. In the last general election Sinn Fein, the political wing of the IRA, polled around 1.6% of the votes, a typical figure of late. This shows that there is absolutely no argument that the IRA has any political support or mandate. Leaders of all the communities concerned need to establish new relationships that will truly isolate and reveal in their isolation the terrorists on both sides.

It's good to talk, Mr Major
Article Abstract:
Negotiations have already succeeded in bringing about a ceasefire in Northern Ireland, and negotiations will also be the key to establishing a lasting peace there. The UK government must therefore make every possible effort to ensure that constructive negotiations take place. At present, it is failing to move the peace process on because it is insisting on the surrender of weapons, an issue which was not mentioned while negotiations for a ceasefire were taking place.
