I'm going to miss my wild child
Article Abstract:
A mother whose 18-year-old autistic son is soon to leave home to attend a college for people with special educational needs does not necessarily feel relief that he will be well cared for and that she will have more time for herself. Instead, she feels rather sad and anxious, wondering how he will cope. She has gone through many very difficult experiences with him, and it took a long time for her to accept him as a member of the family.

Blacker than the teenage blues
Article Abstract:
Adolescent moodiness is accepted as normal but sometimes it can become clinical depression. About 3-6% of teenagers are clinically depressed. They need to be referred to a child and adolescent mental health clinic where they receive psychotherapy and are prescribed atricyclic antidepressant. Symptoms are social withdrawal, personality change and altered eating and sleeping patterns. The teenagers' families also need support.
