In the company of other wolves
Article Abstract:
British film company, the Palace Group, has debts of 12million pounds sterling according to the American magazine 'Variety'. Negotiations with the Polygram Group were to be completed on Apr 2 1992 but Polygram backed out as it wished to take on the production side of the company but not the video and distribution side. Palace chairmen Nik Powell and Steve Woolley are unconventional businessmen who secured success for art films and used aggressive promotion techniques. Palace went into production in 1984 and has produced nearly 20 movies. Its financial problems were probably caused through its subsidiary companies. Polygram may agree to Powell and Woolley continuing to produce films.

'I like a pseudo-humble level of existence. I didn't have any aspirations to become a star. I was just into it. Axl, on the other hand, had a vision ...' (Slash, guitarist with rock band Guns N'Roses)(Interview)
Article Abstract:
Slash, guitarist with extremely successful rock band Guns N'Roses, has a lifestyle associated with rock stars of previous generations. Along with other members of the band, he has been involved in drinking, drug taking and outrageous behaviour. He has a reputation for wildness, and tends to find it hard to relax when the band is not touring. He is currently touring with his own band, Slash's Snakepit.

'We always depended on the plug. Do you think Bing Crosby would give me his time just for the pleasure of my company? Bullshit.' (chat show host Michael Parkinson)(Interview)
Article Abstract:
Michael Parkinson hosted 361 late-night chat shows for the BBC in the period 1972-1982, and came to be seen as one of the best chat show interviewers ever. His show was the first of its kind, and has not really be followed by any shows of similar quality. He believes that such shows are no longer possible because agents have become very dominant, determining what the interviewer can ask.
