Article Abstract:
The UK's most successful professional investment managers do not necessarily show the characteristics which they may be expected to need to succeed in a very challenging sector. Some focus on stockpicking, seeking exceptional performing shares rather than taking a broad view of how markets are moving. Others tend to take a wider view, with some specializing in spotting general international trends that are likely to have an impact on the UK and Europe. There are no clear similarities between any two methods for success.

Article Abstract:
Many forecasts about market and share performance are published at the beginning of each new year, but they rarely prove to be accurate. This has prompted some forecasters to be a little more cautious. People tend to reassess their investments towards the end of year, and this can affect market and share performance at the beginning of the following year. However, this effect tends to wear off, and large changes in market patterns after that period are very hard to anticipate.
