It's time to cry farewell to the beloved country
Article Abstract:
There have been dramatic changes in South Africa since 1989, but these have not come about without hardship and suffering. There has been great hope and great despair, and all humanity's vices and virtues have been displayed at some time. F.W. de Klerk, the Afrikaner leader who is now deputy president to Nelson Mandela in the government of national unity, was the main power behind a move at political level towards a belief in the wrongness of legalised racial discrimination, but there are still strong opponents in the government to the abolition of apartheid.

What if the answer is no?
Article Abstract:
If F W de Klerk's referendum on reform programme results in a 'no', businesses will be bankrupt and the national economy will be ruined. A group of businessmen called the Private Sector Referendum Fund have taken a full-page advertisement in national newspapers. Managing directors have been warning staff that they might lose their jobs if they vote no. Victory would reduce the risks rather than guarantee peace and prosperity. War is possible in South Africa, whichever result arises.
