Composer and singer John Reine, known as Johnny Johnston, served as an army major during the second world war. He subsequently formed Michael Reine Music with partner Mickey Michaels, and composed several well-known songs. He was working regularly as an arranger and a singer for BBC Radio's light music department by the mid-1940s. He formed several different groups, but his career moved in a new direction with the opening of commercial television in 1956. He composed many advertising jingles, and created Johnny Johnston Jingles Ltd.

Peter Dulay
Article Abstract:
Television presenter and scriptwriter Peter Dulay appeared in his father's comedy magic act as a child. He served in the Army during the second world war, and subsequently became a solo stand-up comic. He took over Max Wall's role in the London Coliseum production of 'The Pajama Game' in 1955. He started to write comedy scripts for other performers during the 1950s, and began writing for television in 1961. He produced many series for ABC-TV, including 'Comedy Bandbox.'
