Simon Jeffes
Article Abstract:
Composer Simon Jeffes studied classical guitar at the Royal Academy in London, England, with Gilbert Biberian and Julian Byzantine at the end of the 1960s. He travelled to Japan in 1972, and was greatly inspired by the minimalist style of Japanese musicians. He was also influenced by African music. He supervised early recordings by the 101ers, and this attracted the attention of Malcolm McLaren, who requested him to produce a string arrangement for the cod-punk version by Sid Vicious of 'My Way.'
