Junk mailshots hit record levels
Article Abstract:
The amount of junk mail being received in the post has risen to record levels. Most people receive three pieces of direct mail a week with it making up 50% of items sent through the post. However, only 59% of junkmail is actually read. The Direct Marketing Information Service said its research showed that the amount of mail binned had not risen and that it should be accepted as part of the marketing mix.
