Keep the faith
Article Abstract:
Some observers believe that cinema, which celebrated its centenary in 1996, is now in decline, with few people now believing firmly in it as an art form. Most films are concerned only with disaster and violence, and the cinema no longer has any mystery or magic. Others feel that this view is too pessimistic, although it is true to state that cinema, and in particular Hollywood cinema, is currently in crisis. There are reasons for genuine optimism about cinema, especially as new technology becomes widely used.
