Kiss goodbye to the 'gels with pearls.' (new editor and editorial criteria for Country Life magazine)
Article Abstract:
Clive Aslet, 38, has been the editor of Country Life for two months and has introduced a competition whereby readers write in and identify a building that spoils their view, the magazine then suggesting ways it could be improved. The architectural editor Giles Worsley says the response has revealed much about their readership and their aspirations. Former editor of The Field Simon Courtauld wrote in The Spectator criticising the competition. Mr Aslet says that Mr Courtauld likes boring things and pointed out that during his tenure of the editorship of The Field it went from weekly to monthly.
