Money pours into the railways and a wealth of career chances for the young engineer arrives
Article Abstract:
There has been a revival in demand for engineering graduates in the UK railways sector recently. Railway operators are investing extensively, and this has boosted demand for the services of mechanical engineers, civil engineers, computing and systems engineers and electrical engineers. Working in the railways sector can place great demands on engineers, who often bear responsibility for safety-critical work. Railtrack, for example, insists that graduate engineers study for chartered engineer status.

Article Abstract:
Financial pressure can be a key element in a student's decision not to complete a university or college course. This problem can in fact be exacerbated by leaving a course, as it can mean that the student is not eligible for tuition fees or a grant for any future degree. It is vital to leave the course within 20 weeks of the start if eligibility for future funding is to be retained.
