Singer Lena Zavaroni began singing at an early age. She performed on the talent show 'Opportunity Knocks' in late 1973 at the age of only nine, and went on to become a child superstar. She was signed to Phillips Records, and her first single was 'Ma, He's Making Eyes at Me.' She attended the Italia Conti stage school in London, England, and made further television appearances. She developed anorexia nervosa, and eventually experienced a breakdown.

Mark Sandman
Article Abstract:
Singer, bass-player and songwriter Mark Sandman played in several bands before forming Treat Her Right. This group was signed to RCA Records in 1987, and released three albums. He subsequently formed Morphine with saxophonist Dana Colley and drummer Jerome Deupree, and they were signed to the Rykodisc label in 1993. The group never quite achieved mainstream success, but established a substantial following on the European festival circuit.

John Phillips
Article Abstract:
Singer John Phillips was born in Parris Island, SC, in 1935. He formed the Smoothies with Scott McKenzie in the late 1950s, and they later created the Journeymen. He went on to become a member of the Mamas and the Papas.
