Georges Guetary
Article Abstract:
Singer and dancer Lambros Worloou, known as Georges Guetary, was born in Egypt to Greek parents. He developed an interest in films at a young age, and also learned the basics of music. He was sent to Paris, France, in 1937, where he attended the music school run by violinist Jacques Thibaud and pianist Alfred Cortot, and made his first appearance on the European stage in the same year. He toured as a solo singer and in revue and operetta during the second world war.

Catherine Sauvage
Article Abstract:
Singer and actress Catherine Sauvage acted and sang in school productions in Annecy, France. During this time, many of her friends and teachers were arrested and tortured by the Nazis, and these experiences were to affect her for the rest of her life. She made her first recordings in Lausanne, Switzerland, and then performed in night-clubs in Paris, France. She was greatly influenced by Leo Ferre, with whom she worked in cabaret.
