Let's be honest: we need to impose our imperial rule on Afghanistan

A radical solution to the problems in Afghanistan would be to establish some form of imperial rule. It is suggested that life for ordinary people in Afghanistan would be better under imperial rule than under the existing Taliban regime.

The West must stop pretending this war has gone the way it planned

Military action in Afghanistan has not proceeded as the West had planned. Similarly, the West's plans for Afghanistan's political future are unlikely to be fulfilled if they go against the aims of the Northern Alliance. There is still strong Taliban support in some parts of Afghanistan, and the civil war is far from over.
