For sale: one prime location with dramatic prospects
Article Abstract:
Little is known about potential purchasers of the Old Vic theatre and nearby National Theatre Studio in London, England. There is particular concern about the future of the Studio. The National Theatre board has put in a bid for this venture alone, but it is possible that it will not be available separately from the Old Vic. The Old Vic is not listed, has a very useful car park and is in a prime location, and this makes it very attractive to developers.

Rat with hand exits stage left
Article Abstract:
It would be impossible to stage Sarah Kane's new play 'Cleansed' realistically, according to theatre director James Macdonald. He has had to develop a whole new strategy for this play, with words accounting for only a third of the overall production. He believes that Kane has deliberately laid the play open to many different meanings. This is the opposite of conventional theatrical practice, where the meaning is reduced from scene to scene.
