The issue of whether the UK should have fixed-term parliaments is debated. It is argued that holding elections too frequently serves to reduce public interest in politics.

Mission accomplished: the Tory conference was dull and boring
Article Abstract:
The 2001 conference of the UK Conservative party was very uninteresting, but it was at least possible to avoid any embarrassing incidents. Furthermore, the tone of the party seems more positive and there is a stronger sense of unity.
