Money Mark's 20th-century repair
Article Abstract:
A precise sense of scale is very important, according to songwriter Mark Ramos-Nishita. He has a strong interest in recording pockets of sound rather than writing songs, and this is why his tracks are usually very short. He was working as a carpenter when he was discovered by the Beastie Boys in 1989, and during the 1990s has successfully collaborated with this group and with Beck. He obtained a record deal with Mo' Wax, and his 1995 debut album 'Mark's Keyboard Repair' was very successful.

Les francais under a groove
Article Abstract:
Claude Debussy has been a strong influence, according to Jean Benoit Dunckel, who forms the French dance music duo Air with Nicolas Godin. Debussy's music is very sweet and light, and he and Godin aim for a similar sound. The album 'Moon Safari' has an intentional lack of drama, and this gives it its in incisiveness. The duo has been heralded as pioneering the boom in French pop music. However, neither Dunckel nor Godin understand the current strong British interest in French pop music.

Dog daze in Hammersmith
Article Abstract:
The Hammersmith Dog Training Club in London, England, is one of more than 870 dog-training clubs in the UK which aims to train dogs to become socially acceptable. This club offers a six-week beginners' course which places strong emphasis on the need to create a disciplined, understanding relationship between the dog and its owner. Organizers believe that their task is to teach the owners to train their dogs, rather than directly train the dogs.
