Who will rock the cradle?
Article Abstract:
There can be many difficulties associated with choosing a nanny or au pair. Parents are aware that they are entrusting their children, the most precious thing in their lives, to somebody who is initially a complete stranger, and often feel guilty about doing so. Furthermore, they may have to compete for the best nannies with families who can offer very high salaries and many related benefits. It is possible to recruit a nanny through The Lady magazine, but this can be time-consuming. Some families choose to use an agency, which can cost between 300 pounds sterling and 600 pounds sterling.

Cut out and keep
Article Abstract:
Parchment craft, the art of making embossed and decorated cards, can be an absorbing hobby. Those learning this craft initially trace a design on to a waxy, shiny sheet of paper. As the design is traced, there is no need to have any real artistic ability. The parchment-like paper can be coloured using oil pastel crayons, and individual details can be highlighted. The design is embossed with embossing pens of various thicknesses. Even beginners can produce a pleasing result after only a few hours.

The message Gemma brings to Christmas
Article Abstract:
Many UK charities undertake extensive fund-raising work in the pre-Christmas period. Charities working with children make particular use of this time of year. They often find that using a story about the fate of a specific child can be very effective in increasing levels of donations. Scope, for example, hopes to raise 500,000 pounds sterling from its seasonal appeal, with a further 250,000 pounds sterling coming from a follow-up appeal in Jan 1998.
