Moscow fury sparks off threat of new cold war

Russia has recalled its envoy to the US and its ambassador to the UK in protest at air attacks by the UK and the US against Iraq. Russia has emphasized that it does not intend to break off relations with the US and the UK, but western diplomats believe that relations will now be very strained. Both the UK and the US have expressed their belief that the relationship with Russia will survive. Italy, France and China have also expressed disapproval of the action taken by the UK and the US.
