Mother tells murder trial of fears about British nanny
Article Abstract:
Louise Woodward, a British nanny, is standing trial in the US for the murder in Feb 1997 of eight-month-old Matthew Eappen. The prosecution alleges that the child, who died as a result of severe retinal bleeding, must have been violently shaken. The defence claims that he was in fact suffering from an earlier injury for which Woodward cannot be held responsible. The child's mother has been giving evidence, stating that she and her husband had been concerned from the beginning about Woodward's ability to care for their children.

New facts expose flaw in case against British nanny accused of murder
Article Abstract:
Some observers believe that the case against Louise Woodward, a British teenager accused in the US of murdering a nine-month-old baby in her care, is far from proven. She has admitted that she may have shaken the child after becoming upset by his crying. The autopsy revealed a fracture in the child's head, which according to the prosecution was caused by a sharp blow. The defence will claim that the injury could have happened two days earlier, when Woodward did not have charge of the child.
