The JFAX fax and messaging system offers the convenience of electronic mail for faxes and voice messages, according to musician Jaye Muller, who invented the system after finding that it was very difficult for people to contact while while he was on tour. He believes that his training in electronic design and his experience of the music industry placed him in a good position to design and commercialize this product. He plans to expand the system to deal with voice calls, rather than just voice messages.

Insurance brokers face fewer regulations

The UK government has decided to repeal the Insurance Brokers Registration Council and the Insurance Brokers Registration Act. This is part of plans by the government to encourage the insurance industry to move towards more extensive self-regulation. However, it will also mean that the level of protection for clients of insurance brokers will decline. The government is now planning to work with insurance bodies to establish a stronger set of rules governing member companies.
