New England's Pacific coast
Article Abstract:
Point Reyes, CA, is believed by historians to be the place most likely to have been used by Sir Francis Drake for rest and repairs on his journey around the Americas. The area is mostly a wilderness, covering redwood forest, rugged coastline and inland estuary. It has been protected from uncontrolled development by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, located less than two hours' drive from San Francisco Bay. Local people still lead a rural, secluded lifestyle. There are a number of attractions for visitors, including 150 miles of hiking and horseback-riding trails.

Half in love with easeful death
Article Abstract:
The house on the Spanish Steps in Rome, Italy, where poet John Keats died in 1821 was purchased by the Keats-Shelley Memorial Fund in 1906. It is now the library and museum of the Romantic poets, mainly Keats, Shelley, Byron and Leigh Hunt. Visitors to Rome can rent an apartment on the floor above Keat's rooms. The house has become a significant attraction, even though Keats only stayed there for a short time. It now attracts 18,000 visitors a year.
