Off the wall, into the gallery
Article Abstract:
An exhibition entitled 'Scrawl, dirty graphics & stranger characters' is being staged at Arc Arts and the Dry Bar in Manchester, England. This exhibition presents the work of around 20 graffiti artists who are making a living from their work. It covers a wide range of styles, including the 3D lettering of Prototype 21 and the strongly figurative works of Mode 2. The works exhibited give an insight into the influences on graffiti artists, including hip hop and comic book art.

The many faces of Mr Chow
Article Abstract:
Restaurateur Michael Chow does not see himself in the many portraits that have been painted of him by well-known artists such as Andy Warhol. He points out that Peter Blake came up with the idea of the portraits, so does not feel that he can be accused of vanity. These portraits are currently being exhibited at the Mayor Gallery in London, England. This exhibition contains elements of humour, so does not come across as an excessively reverential homage to Chow.
