Introducing ... the spinsterati
Article Abstract:
There is currently very strong interest in the UK in novels and television programmes which show single women in their 30s who lead very disorganized lives. Some observers believe that the success of this genre reflects the fact that there has been a very strong increase in dissatisfaction among young single women. The writers of these novels and television programmes often draw inspiration from their own lives and those of their friends, and are willing to use self-deprecation to make their point.

As worn at the fall of the House of Windsor
Article Abstract:
There have been many visitors to the exhibition of gowns worn by Diana, Princess of Wales, which is currently being staged by auction house Christie's. The 79 gowns are to be auctioned for charity in New York at the end of Jun 1997, and it is expected that 4 million pounds sterling will be raised. Most of the visitors to the exhibition have great respect for Diana, Princess of Wales, as a survivor, and believe that she was treated badly by Prince Charles.
